Thomas withers safes are very popular, as there are lots to choose from. This safe was a bit tatty when we got her but everything was original, its even got its original keys. We designed this for a USA customer who put the project on hold, but liked the design so much we kept it and used the design on this restoration. The green outside has a pattern on the front and the same pattern wraps around the body of the safe in one continuous pattern. Inside weve used a tan colour to compliment the green exterior and added a glass shelf. We added a Rolex logo on gold on the front and dark green on the sides.
Safe comes with a spare set of keys and motion Led light
History: Thomas Withers was a key figure in the British safe manufacturing industry, part of the Withers family who established several safe-making businesses in West Bromwich during the late 19th century. Thomas, along with his brothers Samuel and Jesse, each ran their own competing companies, reflecting the era’s demand for improved security due to notorious robberies and break-ins.
Thomas Withers & Sons Ltd. became well-known for supplying safes to major institutions, including His Majesty’s Post Office and leading British banks. Their safes were recognised for quality and security, often featuring robust construction and sometimes brass hardware. The company operated from Sandwell Road in West Bromwich, with a history that lasted well into the 20th century.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the business faced financial difficulties, went into liquidation in 1982, and was removed from the companies register in 1984. After the company closed, most of the factory was demolished and a residential street named Withers Way was built on the site.

Please note: Safes of this age, approximately 100years old will show signs of their age and build, even after our restoration. We believe each safe has its own character, and thats what makes them special. If you purchase one of our safes, its not a NEW safe, they were built without modern tools, you will see imperfections, ie. the hinges are metal on metal (no bearings) so they may squeak and some may scratch some paintwork at the bottom hinge.
