About Us
Safe Places has been a classic story of a hobby turning into a business. Phill, once a signwriter in his youth, semi-retired from work and decided to reconnect with his old skill.
Stumbling onto an old safe in a second-hand shop and deciding it would be fun project to restore and decorate it in some way, brought it home and started a small restoration process and created his 1st safe. When it was finished it was placed in his home as a piece of furniture, for people to see. When friends and family visited, everyone who saw it, commented how unique and beautiful it was. When more and more people said “that’s stunning, you should sell them” the idea of a small hobby business began to take shape. Shortly afterwards, Safeplaces.uk was formed and the rest is history.
To-date, Safeplaces has restored many different makes and sizes of safe. We take a lot of time crafting the right design that suits the style of the safe. We also try to showcase different designs and styles to provide some ideas to anyone who wishes to have their own safe restored. Were proud to restore some family heirlooms back to their original colours and when they are completed, they are even better than the day they were originally made.
The website shows unrestored safes that we have purchased and hold in stock for our future restorations, these can also be bought and commissioned to the customers specification.
Please get in touch if you would like us to look at restoring your own safe or we can source a safe to your requirement and design it exactly to you specification.
