This safe was sourced for the customer, we hunted across the UK to find one that suited the brief and was also in good shape. When we discovered this Cartwright safe we knew this was going to be special. The safe had been painted many times and looked a bit tatty. However under the paint was a gem waiting to be discovered.
These double safes are a lot of work, far more than two single safes, they require a lot of fine tuning to get the doors locking without not marking the new paint. I think we had this safe for over 4 months in total. They are also difficult to move form place to place due to the weight and size, this one is over 200kg.
The customers requested a tradition design so we went for our classic old school back and green outside with feathered shadow around teh edges of the green panels which adds to the vintage look. The customer also specified a red suede inside which looks amazing when the led lights come on.
All the pinstripes are painted in brass sign enamel. 3 x LED motion sensor light is fitted which come on as the door is opened. All locks (doors and drawer) are fully working, all have a key and all have been serviced. All brass has been cleaned and polished to our usual high standards.

Please note: Safes of this age, approximately 100years old will show signs of their age and build, even after our restoration. We believe each safe has its own character, and thats what makes them special. If you purchase one of our safes, its not a NEW safe, they were built without modern tools, you will see imperfections, ie. the hinges are metal on metal (no bearings) so they may squeak and some may scratch some paintwork at the bottom hinge.
