Safe Places

John Lowe, Manchester 102

£0.00 GBP

This is a nice small safe, solid and heavy for its size. These dont have a brass plaque, so are ideal for branding, A watch make, a Company logo or a Bank. Safe no.073 was same safe and branded to Coutts Safe & Lock. The 2nd visual shows the safe with a J.Lowe brass plaque rom old stock and added.

We have added a couple of design to give you an idea of what this little gem could look like after a restoration.

History: John Lowe safes of Manchester have their origins in the late Victorian era, with the company known for manufacturing patent fire and burglar-proof safes around 1896 in Manchester, specifically noted at Albert Street/King Street. The company’s safes featured brass maker’s plates indicating quality and security,
John Lowe was primarily recognised as “Patent Fire & Burglar Proof Safe Makers,” playing a significant role in the industrial security landscape in Manchester at the turn of the 20th century. The attention to detail in branding and construction reflects the Victorian era’s emphasis on both function and decorative style.
