This is a really nice safe, and a good size. The brass handle is very decorative and looks well next to the brass escutcheon. This safe has been in same family for years, painted many times, but this protects the brass. We cleaned the escutcheon so we can see its quality.

Operating out of the Wellington Works, the company was well-regarded for producing heavy-duty, high-quality security products. They specialised in cast iron fireproof safes and floor safes, using complex key-operated lever locks, often requiring substantial antique keys.
