Hobbs & Co late 1800's Small Writing box 106

£0.00 GBP

Hobbs & Co writing boxes are lovely pieces of furniture. They are really well made and the test of time proves it. They come form late 1800 early 1900s and everyone ive seen is fully functioning as it was originally designed to do.

This box was chosen from our 'awaiting restoration' stock and commissioned by the customer to match a design we were doing on a safe No084, we had also been commissioned to restore.

History: Hobbs & Co. was a prominent London-based manufacturer established in 1851 by American locksmith Alfred Charles Hobbs. The company gained fame following the Great Exhibition of 1851, where Hobbs famously picked the previously "unpickable" Bramah and Chubb locks, securing a massive reputation and capital for his own venture.
