Safe Places

Hamilton & Co, London 100

£2,200.00 GBP

This safe is a unique safe but wouldn't have passed our quality checks and would probably been sold unrestored. Whats odd about this safe is the inside was made with concrete, thats why its so heavy. Usually there is a metal skin on the inside and concrete or other material is sandwiched between. This safe was made by pouring concrete into a mould and the exterior is made conventionally out of metal. Due to this build method the door doesn't fit as well as others and isn't flush to the safe when closed.  However, as we've not come across a Hamilton safe like this before and it has such nice brass on the front we thought it deserved to be restored. Due to our high quality control, we are selling this restored safe at a discount due to the door not closing flush (see pics)

Its is a unique little safe with lovely brass on the door. Not only is it rare as ive not come across any of these before, its has 3 locks which can be used singularly or all three, before the door opens. Its also very heavy for its size at 110kg. This safe has 3 original keys and comes with a spare for each lock

We've designed this in our classic black with metallic green panels. Each panel has dark green pattern and feathered edges to give the design a vintage feel. We've kept the gold pinstripes thin and simple, as there is a lot of brass on this small safe.

Please note: Safes of this age, approximately 100years old will show signs of their age and build, even after our restoration. We believe each safe has its own character, and thats what makes them special.  If you purchase one of our safes, its not a NEW safe, they were built without modern tools,  you will see imperfections, ie. the hinges are metal on metal (no bearings) so they may squeak and some may scratch some paintwork at the bottom hinge.
